This piece of art is called "Mill of blood" from the Mexican artist Antonio Vega Macotela. It shows a Bolivian silver mine where Bolivian workers produced silver coins during the Spanish
colonisation. The artist wanted to raise awareness for the bad and dangerous working conditions which were considered slavery. Seen at the Documenta Kassel 2017.
The theory of "buen vivir" (good life) is a degrowth-theory developed by indigenous people in Ecuador and Bolivia. The main goal of this theory is the good life, but not the good life of every
individual but of a society. It is a contrasting idea to the concept of development, which led to exploitation and destruction of nature and habitat of indigenous groups.
The main difference between the good life theory and the development concept are that the first considers the humanity as part of nature. Then it's not about growth but about finding a balance
between culture and nature.
This leads to a completely different behaviour with nature. This theory is already part of the constitutions of Ecuador and Bolivia.
Feel free to discuss the possibilities of implementation and concrete actions to get active.
